Establishment Of The Religious Liberty Commission

The commission will shape potential executive and legislative action on religious expression, conscience rights, faith-based institutions, and access to government programs.

What the order does ​

• Establishes a Religious Liberty Commission of up to 14 presidential appointees, with the Attorney General, housing secretary, and domestic policy adviser serving ex officio.
• Directs the commission to report on religious liberty’s foundations, societal impact, current domestic threats, protective strategies, and public-awareness programs.
• Requires review of issues including worship-site attacks, religious debanking, education and parental rights, military religious expression, workplace rights, healthcare conscience protections, vaccine mandates, and government censorship or retaliation.
• Directs the commission to advise the White House Faith Office and Domestic Policy Council and recommend executive or legislative action.
• Creates advisory boards of religious leaders, congregation members, and legal experts.
• Directs the Department of Justice to provide authorized funding and administrative and technical support.
• Terminates the commission on July 4, 2026, unless the President extends it.
